WandaVision, the very first TV show in the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Disney+, streamed all the way back in 2021. Its first spin-off, Agatha All Along, arrived in 2024. And now its long-promised second spin-off, VisionQuest, finally has a spot on the calendar: October 14.
This news came as part of Disney’s upfronts presentation today, with Variety reminding us that “fall 2026” had been previously teased as the series’ arrival window. Paul Bettany will star as the “Synthezoid” and former Avenger he played starting in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, after having voiced Tony Stark’s AI program, JARVIS, across several films beginning with 2008’s Iron Man.
While we don’t know the plot of the series yet, this is definitely an intriguing time to explore AI-themed stories—especially with James Spader also in the cast, reprising the role of Ultron.
In WandaVision, we got a glimpse of the character’s surreal domestic existence alongside Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch, who briefly enchanted herself into suburban happiness.
It seems likely neither Wanda nor Agatha Harkness will pop up in VisionQuest—though stranger things have happened in other Marvel shows. Along with Bettany and Spader, the rest of the cast features Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, James D’Arcy, Orla Brady, Emily Hampshire, Ruaridh Mollica, Lauren Morais, and Diane Morgan.
Terry Matalas (Star Trek: Picard) is the showrunner, and VisionQuest will run eight episodes. Look for it October 14 on Disney+.
