Ryan Coogler Drops More Hints About His ‘X-Files’ Reboot

Reading time 2 minutes

The Duffer brothers’ Talisman adaptation is no more. Get another new look at Daisy Ridley’s zombie movie, We Bury the Dead. Plus, Ryan Condal has an update about House of the Dragon‘s fourth season. Spoilers now!

The Talisman

During a recent interview with CBR, Ross Duffer confirmed his planned adaptation of Stephen King’s The Talisman with brother Matt Duffer is no longer moving forward.

Sadly, Talisman is no longer at Netflix, so we’re not involved. When I interned, when I was really, you know, back in college at Kennedy Marshall, I remember reading, I think it was a movie script for Talisman. So it’s been in development forever, so I’m sorry that we were not the ones to break the curse.

The MCU

Monkeypaw Productions has retweeted the rumor Jordan Peele is directing a future MCU project with an additional eyes emoji.

Camp Crystal Lake

Dread Central reports that the A24 prequel series will feature not just Jason Voorhees as a child, but also as a teenager, suggesting potential time jumps across the series.

The X-Files

Appearing as a guest on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Ryan Coogler noted his new X-Files series will continue to have both “monsters of the week” and “overarching conspiracy” episodes.

We intend on having both monsters of the week and also the overarching conspiracy […] it wouldn’t be X-Files if we didn’t do both. That’s what I’m doing now. Black Panther 3 comes after that. I’m hyped, bro.

When asked if David Duchovny or Gillian Anderson would be appearing, Coogler only stated he’s a “big fan” of both.

I’m big fan of Gillian’s, I’m a big fan of David’s. That’s all I can say.

House of the Dragon

On a recent episode of The Stuff Things Are Made Of podcast, House of the Dragon co-creator Ryan Condal stated the crew is making “great progress” on the show’s fourth season.

And then writing the next season, which we began in earnest a couple months ago. So, we’re making great progress on all fronts.” In the meantime, they have started sending season 3 episodes to the network. We’ve actually started turning episodes over to the network so they can see the first drafts of things and they are very happy which is always nice to hear.
