A Predator in ‘Alien: Earth’? Yeahhhhhhh, No, Says Noah Hawley

Reading time 1 minute

Now that we know Alien: Earth is getting another season, creator Noah Hawley wants to make one thing clear: crossovers with the Predator aren’t on his mind.

During a recent episode of the Smartless podcast, he said it’s “not really my plan” to bring the two extraterrestrials together on the small screen. Hawley enjoyed Prey and met current Predator steward Dan Trachtenberg, but swore they’re “not coordinating” some kind of Yautja visit for the show, despite Trachtenberg’s Predator: Badlands reconnecting the two franchises via Weyland-Yutani.

Even beyond Alien: Earth, there’s been some back-and-forth about when the Alien and Predator will duke it out again. The original Alien vs. Predator had its 20th birthday in 2024, and during promo for Alien: Romulus, director Fede Álvarez suggested a third installment wherein he and Trachtenberg each direct half of that hypothetical movie. In 2023, an Alien-focused podcast alleged a 10-episode AvP anime exists. Said series was reportedly made and completed before the Disney/Fox acquisition, and Disney apparently never plans to release it for currently unknown reasons.

That fans keep asking about another duel between the Xenomorph and Yautja means someone at Disney surely knows there’s a demand for it. Whether they’ll meet that demand, and in what form, remains to be seen. Until then, the Alien and Predator will keep having their own individual adventures, including a Romulus sequel and another Trachtenberg-led Predator or two.
