Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway’s Mystery’s Sci-Fi Film Has Its First Trailer

Reading time 2 minutes

For the past several months, Warner Bros. has had this very mysterious film on its release schedule. It was called “Flowervale Street,” written and directed by It Follows helmer David Robert Mitchell, starring Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway. The film was moved around the release schedule a lot, and rumors suggested the generic title was hiding the fact that it was some kind of dinosaur movie, but nothing was confirmed.

Now it’s confirmed.

The film is now called The End of Oak Street, and the first trailer is here. It’s a teaser for sure, but it looks like the dinosaur rumors were true, in some form or another. The film appears to be about an entire neighborhood that is transported to a mysterious place or maybe even time. Check it out.

“After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.” That’s how Warner Bros. is describing the film officially. And we love it.

The trailer raises so many questions. How did this happen? Why did this happen? Why was it a full neighborhood and not just a single person or house? How big is this neighborhood? And, of course, where the hell are they? They’re the kinds of questions that make you want to run to a movie theater to get all the answers, and we can do just that this summer.

Next up for Mitchell will be a sequel to It Follows, but frankly, as excited as we are for that, this one just looks like he took things to another level.

The End of Oak Street co-stars Maisy Stella and Christian Convery, features music by Michael Giacchino, and opens in theaters on August 14.
