As the world waits for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie to come around in April, Nintendo and Illumination spent Friday releasing flashy new character posters. From the Mario brothers themselves to Bowser, Peach, and newcomers like Daisy and Yoshi, they’re all meant to get you hyped for what’s ahead in the sequel.
Like the two games the movie borrows its title from, the character posters for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie want to make it clear everyone’s taking a trip to the stars. Whether by rocket, UFO, or just already living in a space station, the final frontier is calling out to the heroes and villains so they can all show their coolest powers and funniest gags for the third act.
For longtime fans of the Mario games, they’ll catch that the main character in these posters is joined by enemies and NPCs from different games in the series. Koopas in their many forms are all over the posters for Mario and the two Bowsers, while the Penguins from the first movie feature in Peach’s and Toad’s. Others are all-new, like the Piantas that first debuted in Super Mario Sunshine with Peach and Toad’s poster or Super Mario Odyssey’s Tostarenans with Luigi. They all look great in Illumination’s style and for many, will be worth the ticket price alone.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie releases April 1 in theaters.
