‘The Muppet Show’ Special Drops a Gently Kinky Full Trailer

Reading time 1 minute

While there’s not too much new in this full trailer for the upcoming special episode of The Muppet Show, beyond what we already saw in the teaser, you do get two standout takeaways: one is that Maya Rudolph is also part of the human cast. The other is that main guest star Sabrina Carpenter and Kermit are going to have a slightly racy little exchange, signaling that Disney+ is well aware the main audience for this new special is adults who will be in on the joke.

Oh, Sabrina! That’s not to say kids won’t be able to enjoy The Muppet Show‘s 2026 iteration—the inevitable disastrous outcome of Gonzo’s stunts and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew’s experiments are timeless, as are the pleasures of hearing Statler and Waldorf ruthlessly roast the performers. Plus: Miss Piggy swanning around backstage in a turban? Doesn’t get much better than that.

Here’s the official synopsis from Disney+: “It’s The Muppet Show! Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the beloved Muppets ensemble are back with a brand-new special event. Music, comedy, and a whole lot of chaos are bound to ensue when the Muppets once again take the stage of the original Muppet Theatre with their very special guest, Sabrina Carpenter!”

Seth Rogen, who’s also an executive producer, rounds out the human cast alongside the newly announced Rudolph. Catch the musical chaos February 4, when The Muppet Show hits Disney+ and ABC.
