Filming has wrapped on Star Wars: Starfighter. The Labubu movie has found its director. Plus, Disney’s live-action Tangled is narrowing down its options for Rapunzel. Spoilers, assemble!

Labubu

Sony has tapped Paul King to helm its movie spin on the viral toy sensation. [THR]

Tangled

THR also reports that Disney is eyeing a lineup that includes Sarah Catherine Hook, Teagan Croft, Freya Skye, and Olivia-Mai Barrett to take on the role of Rapunzel for its live-action take on Tangled. Milo Manheim, Gilli Jones, and Charlie Gillespie have also all reportedly tested for the film’s male lead, Flynn Rider.

Shawn Levy took to Instagram to confirm that Starfighter has wrapped filming.

Illomen

Deadline reports Sol Rodriguez, Lou Lou Safran, and Booboo Stewart have recently wrapped production on Illomen, a “Giallo-inspired feature” about vampires from director Nathalia Pizarro. The story concerns “a young widow whose life begins to fracture after a sudden tragedy, drawing her into a confrontation with a mysterious, century-old vampire.”

Widow

THR also has word that Abigail Cowen, Jackie Earle Haley, and Lou Diamond Phillips will star in Widow, a film adaptation of an upcoming graphic novel from Don Handfield and Joshua Malkin. According to the logline, the story concerns “a young mother [who] races across empty highways and forgotten truck stops, hunted by ruthless cartel enforcers and relentless federal agents. But in the shadows between predator and prey, something far more terrifying is stirring—and nothing in this story is what it seems.”

Infinite Summer

In the not-too-distant future, a mind-bending meditation app makes a party in the woods a hell of a lot more interesting in the trailer for Infinite Summer.

Worldbreaker

Monsters from another dimension infect and mutate humans into mindless killers in the trailer for Brad Anderson’s Worldbreaker, starring Milla Jovovich and Luke Evans.

Omukade

During WWII, a yokai centipede comes to Japanese-occupied Thailand in the latest trailer for Omukade.

 

Tomb Raider

Deadline reports Jason Isaacs has joined the cast of the Tomb Raider TV series in a currently undisclosed role.

Stranger Things

Finally, the Duffer Brothers teed up a clip of Joyce holding court over the gang as they revel in Will’s newfound powers in a clip from Stranger Things‘ return this Christmas.
