Hey, Sugar, Rogue Comes to ‘Marvel Rivals’ This Week

Reading time 1 minute

The power couple of the X-Men—or one of them, depending on who you ask—is now complete in Marvel Rivals with the debut of Rogue.

With the Season 5.5 update, Anna Marie joins her husband, Remy LeBeau, as the latest addition to NetEase’s superhero shooter. Like Gambit, she’s voiced by her X-Men ’97 actor—Lenore Zann, continuing to reprise her role from the old 1992 cartoon—and in Rivals mishmash-multiverse lore, both hail from the same universe, where they were getting hitched on the living island Krakoa just before the Timestream Entanglement interrupted their wedding and tore them apart.

In-game, NetEase has Rogue classified as a melee-focused Vanguard, and she uses her absorbing abilities to take the powers of any enemy she takes down, gaining a buff depending on their class. (In a video detailing the update, director Guangyun Chan cited Doctor Strange’s shield and Loki’s regeneration as examples her stealing signature abilities.) For her ultimate, Rogue actually drains the ultimate ability charge of any nearby enemies, buffing herself depending on the roles of who she’s stealing from. Finally, she has a team-up ability with her man: Remy hits her with kinetic energy, and every hit damages nearby enemies and heals teammates. The ultimate sign of a healthy marriage.

Look for Rogue to join Marvel Rivals this Friday, December 12.
